How We Assist Victims
Case Information

Advocates can also help explain the court process and answer questions about what victims and witnesses should expect.
Court Support
Victim Advocates provide support and assistance to victims attending court proceedings and may attend hearings with victims or on their behalf when appropriate.
Advocates also assist with preparation of Victim Impact Statements and help victims understand opportunities to provide information to the court.
Resources & Assistance
Victims may receive assistance with referrals for counseling and other services, information about victim compensation, restitution assistance and emergency resources.
Advocates can help identify available resources based on the individual needs and circumstances of the victim.
Victims' Rights
Victims have important rights throughout the criminal and juvenile justice process. These include the right to be treated with fairness, respect and dignity and to receive information about their case and the justice process.
